Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for athletics when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting ability at the time. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. After that, she attended an institution called the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. She was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently within the top three athletes at her particular events.
