Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami,
Florida on November 30, 1977. Steve Aoki is an American electro house musician
recording producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and
Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, a former wrestler, was also the co-founder of the
chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older siblings who are sisters Kana
who is usually known as Grace because of her middle name Grace, as well as
brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model
and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California & graduated from
Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There he played on the varsity badminton
team. He later attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating w/ 2 B.A. He graduated
with two degrees in sociology, and another in feminist studies. He was a
student at the college who created records by himself and also held underground
shows in his Biko space at Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The
Pickle Patch became a performance venue when the building was named The Pickle
Patch. He was active with student activism and created a Revolutionary
Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. In the early 20s, Dim Mak had
founded his own record company, known as Dim Mak after his idol from childhood
Bruce Lee. He released I'm In the House in March 2010 in collaboration with
Zuper Blahq his alter-ego will.i.am from The Black Eyed Peas. The track charted
at the top of the charts at No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in the first week
of its release. It later entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie
Chart, peaking within the top 5 in both charts. It was featured in MTV's Jersey
Shore, as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A
Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the
producer-songwriter confirmed that he as well as Rivers Cuomo had just worked
on an album. Pollstar named him the highest-grossing North America dance artist
from performances in 2012. He has collaborated with artists like Iggy Azalea,
Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke,
BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. The
artist is known for his remixes with artists like Kid Cudi.
