Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, an African-American author, is more well-known for her ex-wife comedian and television host Steve Harvey. The decision to stay clear from the eyes of the media, she is living a very private life. Even though Steve was not even near the level of success that he has now, they were married for fourteen years. The actual reasons for the couple splitting up were not known and rumors of their split have always been heard in Hollywood. Some speculate that it was due to Steve Harvey's cheating and others believe it was due to his choice to pursue a comedy profession. Her tragic past is believed to be due to Steve's neglect of her and her two daughters while she was expecting with her third child. She began her career at the department store "Saks Fifth Avenue". She met Steve after a while at a friend's wedding party. The two became lovers and were married in 1980. Steve was an insurance professional at the time. The couple was blessed with twin daughters in 1982. However, at that point Steve began to lose interest in his job and wanted to pursue his own entertainment business particularly stand-up comedy. This created a lot of conflict between him and Marcia and later, reports suggested they were about to break up by the year 1990. A large part of the fame and success of Marcia Harvey stemmed from her marriage and divorce to Steve Harvey. Although the details of their divorce from 1994 are kept private, it's obvious that Marcia was expecting their third child when everything fell apart. Marcia finally filed for divorce on March 23 1993. Following her divorce and Steve Harvey's refusal to pay alimony or child support, Marcia was forced to take legal action.
