Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre actor writer, director, and actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother, as well as an actress. She has two brothers: Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV, who has also acted. Evan and her brothers acted at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh and her father is the director. At the age of five she was screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for the leading role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. With her mother and brother Ira, she moved to Los Angeles in 1996. Since since then, she's had the success of television shows and movies on television, and feature films. She appeared in Practical Magic (1998), as Al Pacino’s daughter. The comedic S1m0ne(2002) followed by Thirteen (2003) with Holly Hunter. Her breakout role in the role of Tracy on "Thirteen" brought her an Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. At the time of this SAG nomination, she was the youngest actress to be recognized in the Leading Role category. She received an award of a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011). Her dramatic performance as Stephanie Rourke's estranged child in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her acclaim. Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Little sister of Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. Dancer. She is a fan of singing, swimming or rollerblade and also go horseback riding. She is a black belt in tae-kwon do. She's kept in touch with all through her Once and Again (1999) Castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
