Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a part of the cast of "Saturday Night Live," before
appearing in such big-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," and
'Talladega Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967. He
began his comedic career by playing an actor for the Los Angeles-based improv
group known as the Groundlings. After a seven-year run as Saturday Night Live's
Cast Member, Ferrell became one of the top comedians in the business with
off-color hit films like Old School (2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy (2004). Ferrell also co-founded the popular video streaming website
Funny or Die, and had success as a voiceover actor in animated films such as
Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was born on July 16 1967 in Irvine,
California. The oldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and
teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own admission--hardly the class clown
while a student at University High School. He was quiet and studious, but he
chose to be a football player who set a school record for the highest number of
field goals scored. Even in the more comfortable environment of his suburban
home, Ferrell displayed little of his outrageous, hilarious bursts that would
eventually determine his career. His mother who was interviewed by Esquire
reported Ferrell was gentle and calm. "You have seen those cute Matchbox
cars? Will arrange his Matchbox cars on his own, and be totally happy. You'd
askhim "Do you wish to visit Disneyland this morning?" or "You
want your cars lined up?" It would be a difficult conversation for him to
consider. "That's not to say that Ferrell was a straight man. A glimpse of
his comedic skills showed up each morning in high school, when he disguised his
voice to announce the school's daily events over the PA system. Ferrell
graduated in 1986, and enrolled at the University of Southern California in Los
Angeles. There he joined the Delta Tau fraternity to pursue his dream of
becoming an athlete journalist.
